The beekeeper, Ward, was welcoming and accommodating to my request. He gave us a personal tour in his backyard of the apiary and relayed many interesting facts to us about bees! This is not a structured facility and a walking tour. It is a family that welcomes you into their home and onto their property to share with you a piece of their lives. I found this place online on Friday evening and was able to “schedule” a time to show up for a short tour the next day. Ward is extremely welcoming not... read more only with his hives but his entire property and home. I haven’t met many beekeepers, but I’ll probably never meet a more humble one. All of our questions were answered in full detail and we absorbed all there is to know about queen bees, honey production, and how bees survive the winter. A perfect place to bring a date or the family for an hour, and I can’t even begin to describe the honey itself—it’s that tasty, natural and sweet. We bought two jars and some even contain chunks of honeycomb as a sweet delicacy. 10/10 will return someday.
