Local honey!

I found this place online on Friday evening and was able to “schedule” a time to show up for a short tour the next day. Ward is extremely welcoming not... read more only with his hives but his entire property and home. I haven’t met many beekeepers, but I’ll probably never meet a more humble one. All of our questions were answered in full detail and we absorbed all there is to know about queen bees, honey production, and how bees survive the winter. A perfect place to bring a date or the family for an hour, and I can’t even begin to describe the honey itself—it’s that tasty, natural and sweet. We bought two jars and some even contain chunks of honeycomb as a sweet delicacy. 10/10 will return someday.

We have tried other honeys in area but family says this is the best.

The snow covered hives are beautiful. The birds abound at the feeders. A small piece of solitude where the cats peacefully sleep.

The beekeeper, Ward, was welcoming and accommodating to my request. He gave us a personal tour in his backyard of the apiary and relayed many interesting facts to us about bees! This is not a structured facility and a walking tour. It is a family that welcomes you into their home and onto their property to share with you a piece of their lives. I’m beyond happy to have found Ward and Brighton Honey. As a first year beekeeper, I was intimidated at taking on a new skill. After reading a few books I... read more felt I was ready to dive in. I found Ward to be extremely knowledgeable with over 20 years of experience and was more than willing to share his knowledge and tools with me. I purchased nucs and some equipment from him and it was an absolutely ideal experience. We were able to drop off our brood boxes with empty frames and he filled them for us to pick up tightly secured and ready to take home. They’re settling in so nicely and I couldn’t be more grateful to Ward.
